January Fun

Hi everyone, just thought I'd post a few pictures from January. Hope you enjoy!

I ran in the Houston Half Marathon. Here are some pictures from after the race. Matt was at the finish line with Sander cheering me on :)
Sander got his first 2 wheel bike - with training wheels of course - although he was asking us to take them off after the first day!

Strike a pose!

Here's a video of Sander racing daddy!

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 was a blast in the Tormollen household. We celebrated with Evan and Kyle on the 23rd, then again on Christmas Day with Sander and then again in NY with my family. This was a year for Zoe to celebrate at her house in Boise so Matt took a few days to visit her over the break and they had a great time together skiing! Here are just a few highlights from the Holiday.

Making our Gingerbread house...thanks to Aunt Cheryl for the outfit :)

Sander and his cousin Alexa hanging out in New York.

Christmas morning fun! It was hard to get Sander to look up at the camera with so many presents to unwrap.

Sander and Alexa playing their saxophones. Grandpa enjoying his beer in the background ;)

Sander had a truck-kind of Christmas. Thanks to Pop Ed for the yellow dump trucks and Santa brought the flatbed Mac Truck.

Leaving treats for Santa and his reindeer. They were first left on the floor under the Christmas tree but we quickly decided to move them when Kirby came sniffing around :)

Christmas Morning Fun!

The Year Without Santa Claus is a favorite Christmas show in our house. To celebrate the tradition, Evan and Kyle received Heat Miser and Cold Miser t-shirts. They wore them to the airport the day they left! I wish I could have seen people's reactions to them walking together through the airport with them on :)

We made our Christmas dinner when the older boys were with us. This is from that night working in the kitchen.

Random Fun

These are just some recent pictures we thought you might like!

Grandmom Ruth sent warrior swords (that light up and make sounds!), helmet, arm guards and shields to Sander. This is actually before nighttime...Sander wanted to try on his new snow boots and fleece jacket and then decided he needed the warrior armor to go with it!

Action pose!

Sander is showing a lot of interest in music. Here he improvised the pedal to a bass drum (as he told us) by using a plate!
And, I forgot to mention. He's a trend setter now with his mismatched socks ;)

Just checkin' out the catalogs to see what Santa should bring Sander! I had just gotten back from a run - nice hair!

And, Evan would be proud. Sander is wearing his TCU t-shirt...a college Evan is interested in possibly attending.

Halloween 2009

Sander was a Tyrannosaurus Rex for Halloween this year - not a dinosaur (as he'd say). We enjoyed a neighborhood party pre-trick or treating and then walked around with another family followed by an impromptu party at our house. It was a fun night...we're still trying to get rid of all the candy!!

Sander thought it was awesome that he had a tail like Kirby. And, the costume does have a hat but but Sander wasn't interested in it at ALL.

These were taken in front of his school before his school party.

Sander wasn't too happy about stopping the trick-or-treating action to take a picture with mom and dad!
Watch out! The TRex is being attacked by dogs :)

Enjoying some dinner at the neighborhood party before the trick-or-treating festivities

Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!

The kids decided to overtake a new house for sale during the party...we hope there wasn't an open house planned for the next day!

Pumpkin Picking

We went to a nearby farm for some pumpkin picking and a variety of other activities including a shed filled with corn where Sander was able to play with all sorts of trucks - as if he was in a sand box. The highlight was the hay ride :) Although he had a TON of fun in the corn maze jumping in mud puddles!

I threw this picture in since it was farm-related. Its Sander on his John Deere tractor at hour house. Thanks to Aunt Cheryl for the cool hat!
" I can't believe I'm on a tractor!!"
Fun in corn

Marching Band Fall 2009

Here are a few pictures from a recent football game we attended where Evan and Kyle were playing in the Marching Band. Many of the pictures we took didn't come out given the lighting so hopefully these are ok. Their show this year sounds amazing!

Kyle suited up to go on the field during half-time

LiveStrong Challenge

Matt rode in the Lance Armstrong LiveStrong Challenge. Its an annual bike ride in Austin to raise money for cancer. He rode in memory of his sister Danielle...65 miles! Here are a few pictures from the finish of the race.

Happy Finisher!
