Random Fun

These are just some recent pictures we thought you might like!

Grandmom Ruth sent warrior swords (that light up and make sounds!), helmet, arm guards and shields to Sander. This is actually before nighttime...Sander wanted to try on his new snow boots and fleece jacket and then decided he needed the warrior armor to go with it!

Action pose!

Sander is showing a lot of interest in music. Here he improvised the pedal to a bass drum (as he told us) by using a plate!
And, I forgot to mention. He's a trend setter now with his mismatched socks ;)

Just checkin' out the catalogs to see what Santa should bring Sander! I had just gotten back from a run - nice hair!

And, Evan would be proud. Sander is wearing his TCU t-shirt...a college Evan is interested in possibly attending.

Halloween 2009

Sander was a Tyrannosaurus Rex for Halloween this year - not a dinosaur (as he'd say). We enjoyed a neighborhood party pre-trick or treating and then walked around with another family followed by an impromptu party at our house. It was a fun night...we're still trying to get rid of all the candy!!

Sander thought it was awesome that he had a tail like Kirby. And, the costume does have a hat but but Sander wasn't interested in it at ALL.

These were taken in front of his school before his school party.

Sander wasn't too happy about stopping the trick-or-treating action to take a picture with mom and dad!
Watch out! The TRex is being attacked by dogs :)

Enjoying some dinner at the neighborhood party before the trick-or-treating festivities

Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!

The kids decided to overtake a new house for sale during the party...we hope there wasn't an open house planned for the next day!

Pumpkin Picking

We went to a nearby farm for some pumpkin picking and a variety of other activities including a shed filled with corn where Sander was able to play with all sorts of trucks - as if he was in a sand box. The highlight was the hay ride :) Although he had a TON of fun in the corn maze jumping in mud puddles!

I threw this picture in since it was farm-related. Its Sander on his John Deere tractor at hour house. Thanks to Aunt Cheryl for the cool hat!
" I can't believe I'm on a tractor!!"

Marching Band Fall 2009

Here are a few pictures from a recent football game we attended where Evan and Kyle were playing in the Marching Band. Many of the pictures we took didn't come out given the lighting so hopefully these are ok. Their show this year sounds amazing!

Kyle suited up to go on the field during half-time

Evan playing the tenors!

LiveStrong Challenge

Matt rode in the Lance Armstrong LiveStrong Challenge. Its an annual bike ride in Austin to raise money for cancer. He rode in memory of his sister Danielle...65 miles! Here are a few pictures from the finish of the race.

Happy Finisher!

Soccer 2009

Sander is playing with the local YMCA soccer league this Fall. He's really great at warming up and genuinely likes playing - at home. Once the game starts he tends to freeze or move further away from the ball and other players! Maybe we need to toughen him up more at home ;) These pictures are from his first game. Keep in mind, it was about 90+ degrees, full sun, 11:00am and about 100% humidity. Poor kids!

The shin guards are hard to get used to!
Warm up!

Team circle before the game - Go Sharks!

Now that's the team spirit Sharks ;)

I'm done!

Labor Day Weekend

We headed back to the Lost Pines Hyatt for Labor Day weekend. Evan and Kyle joined us for part of the weekend as well. We were able to celebrate Evan's 17th birthday! Here are just a few pictures.
Sander's actually having fun although his facial expression doesn't show it ;)

Happy 17 Evan!

Yes. there are 18 cupcakes!

This is Sander's new picture pose - don't you love it ;)

Sander had a blast running through the fountains!

Amelia's 102nd Birthday

We went to Roswell to celebrate Amelia's 102nd birthday - wow! After arriving 6 hours later than we should have due to flight delays, we had fun swimming and hanging out with everyone. We celebrated with a great meal at Red Lobster - Amelia's choice for her birthday bash! And, Sander won the prize for swimming the most in less than 48 hours...it was amazing.
